Rangeland High School Named in Lakewood Ranch

A new high school planned for Lakewood Ranch, opening in August 2027, now has a name—Rangeland High School — another sign of continued growth in the area.

According to The Observer, the school will be located near Rangeland Parkway and Post Boulevard and is part of a long-term plan by the School District of Manatee County to address increasing enrollment across the eastern part of the county.

I remember when Parrish Community High School was opening — rezoning was a constant topic of conversation at soccer practices in Lakewood Ranch, and many schools were using portable classrooms to keep up with how quickly the area was growing.

The campus is expected to sit on approximately 85 acres, with a projected cost of around $144 million—designed to help relieve overcrowding as development continues to push east.

This isn’t just about a new school — it’s about what it represents.

When you see infrastructure like this being planned years in advance, it’s a clear indicator that growth isn’t slowing down. Areas like Lakewood Ranch continue to attract both builders and buyers, and projects like this are an integral part of keeping up with that demand.
