On any given day, you might find people walking along the river, having lunch on Old Main Street, browsing an art gallery, enjoying a concert, or simply sitting outside enjoying the view.
Unlike a traditional neighborhood where activity centers around a clubhouse or pool, downtown's gathering places are its restaurants, parks, waterfront, and local businesses.
Much of Downtown Bradenton's residential market consists of condominiums, particularly along the Manatee River. Depending on the building and location, residents may enjoy sweeping river views, marina views, or city views overlooking downtown.
Some of the riverfront views are spectacular, especially at sunrise and sunset. Downtown condominiums tend to be especially popular with single professionals who work downtown, as well as seasonal and full-time residents looking for a low-maintenance lifestyle close to restaurants, events, and the waterfront.

Old Main Street is the heart of downtown's dining and entertainment scene, and, of course, the Saturday Farmers Market during part of the year. There are several bars and restaurants along the street not to mention coffee shops – all locally owned which makes it even more enjoyable.
The Riverwalk stretches along the Manatee River and has become as it has expanded. And since Bradenton sits on the Manatee River, we need to mention Pier 22 offers waterfront dining where you can watch boats come in and go out of Twin Dolphins Marina. A favorite spot is Oak & Stone's rooftop bar and restaurant where you can eat, drink and watch spectacular sunsets. On a clear afternoon, you can see the Skyway Bridge.
Just outside downtown, the Village of the Arts offers galleries, studios, restaurants, and local shops. Motorworks Brewing is another popular destination known for its outdoor gathering space and events.
During spring training, sports fans (especially Pirates fans) go to LECOM Park. It’s really cool when you realize how many MLB teams have training centers scattered throughout Manatee and Sarasota Counties.

It's for people who enjoy being in the center of town and want some sort of waterfront life.
