Palm Grove

Palm Grove

I recently worked with a family purchasing one of the larger two-story single-family homes here.

Palm Grove at Lakewood Ranch

Palm Grove is one of the newest communities in Lakewood Ranch, located at the far northern end of the Ranch along State Road 64. It's a large community that's still being developed and will eventually be gated, with townhomes, paired villas and several different collections of single-family homes.

That mix is one of the things that makes Palm Grove interesting. Townhomes currently start in the $300s, paired villas in the $400s, and single-family homes in the $500s, with larger homes available as you move up in size and price. The community plan includes everything from 1,790-square-foot townhomes to single-family homes approaching 3,500 square feet.

The Feel

Right now, Palm Grove feels new because it is new. Homes are still being built, landscaping is still growing in, and large portions of the community are planned for future phases.

The different housing types have their own areas within the community. Townhomes are located toward the western end, followed by the paired villas, while single-family homes make up much of the eastern portion and surround the Palm Club.

There isn't an established Palm Grove personality yet, and I don't think that's necessarily a negative. Buyers choosing it today are getting in while the community is still taking shape.

Points of Interest

  • Palm Grove's location at the northern end of Lakewood Ranch puts residents close to:
  • State Road 64 – The main east-west route into Bradenton and toward I-75.
  • Lakewood Ranch Main Street – Restaurants, shopping, movies and community events.
  • Waterside Place – Waterfront restaurants, shops and events.
  • Premier Sports Campus – A major Lakewood Ranch sports and recreation destination.
  • I-75 – Convenient for getting north toward Tampa or south toward Sarasota.

Within Palm Grove, the Palm Club serves as the main amenity center, with a large community pool, fitness center, playground and additional recreational amenities.

What It's Like to Live There

Palm Grove offers something that's becoming increasingly important for families moving to Lakewood Ranch: different types and sizes of homes within the same community.

I recently worked with a family purchasing one of the larger two-story single-family homes here. The grandparents were also considering Palm Grove because they wanted to live close to their family. The townhomes fit their budget, but the stairs didn't work for them. The paired villas offered the single-level living they wanted, but at a higher price point.

That experience is a good example of both the advantage and the reality of a multigenerational community. Palm Grove gives families more ways to live near one another, but the right floor plan and the right price still have to come together. The townhomes are two-story, while the paired villas offer one-story living.

A Local Perspective

I've spent quite a bit of time in Palm Grove recently while helping buyers through the new-construction process, from contract through inspections, walkthroughs and closing.

What I like most about Palm Grove isn't that it's trying to be something unusual. It's the range of choices. A first-time buyer looking at a townhome, someone who wants the ease of a villa, and a family looking for a larger single-family home can all consider the same community.

The location is something buyers should think about as well. Palm Grove is at the far northern end of Lakewood Ranch. For some buyers, that's exactly where they want to be. For others who expect to spend more of their time in Sarasota or at the southern end of Lakewood Ranch, the location may matter more than the house itself.

Palm Grove is still becoming Palm Grove. It'll be interesting to see how it feels once the construction is finished, the landscaping has matured and people have had time to make the community their own.
