Homes generally range from the $500s to over $1 million, depending on size, condition, location within the community, views and whether the home has a private pool.
River Club is nice without feeling overly formal. The streets wind through the neighborhood, there are sidewalks throughout, and the mature landscaping gives it a very established feel.
One of the things I noticed right away is that the homes aren't cookie-cutter. They vary in size and style, but they still blend together nicely. There's enough variety to keep the neighborhood interesting without making it feel mismatched.
The Braden River runs through the community—which is how River Club got its name—and there are ponds throughout the neighborhood. An 18-hole golf course also winds through River Club, adding green space and golf course views for many homes.
River Club feels like a neighborhood where it's easy to get outside. The winding streets and sidewalks are great for walking the dog, riding a bike or simply taking a walk, while the golf course, ponds and mature landscaping provide plenty of open space along the way. The homes themselves vary considerably. Some have been extensively updated while others still reflect when they were built. Private pools are common, particularly among the larger single-family homes.
Another plus is the relatively low HOA fees and no CDD, which is notable considering how close River Club is to Lakewood Ranch.
What I like about River Club is how comfortable it feels. The homes aren't all the same, but they look like they belong together. The streets wind instead of feeling overly planned, there are sidewalks, and the mature landscaping makes a difference.
It's also interesting that for such a large, established community, there isn't a tremendous amount of turnover. People tend to move into River Club and stay, and after driving through it, I can understand why.
Then there's the location. One entrance is directly on Lakewood Ranch Boulevard, so you're about as close to Lakewood Ranch as you can get without actually being in it. Technically River Club isn't part of Lakewood Ranch, but it certainly feels like it could be.
