It’s home to full-time and part-time residents, plenty of vacation properties, and one of the most spectacular beaches in Florida.
Siesta Key is Sarasota beach life at its most laid-back. It’s home to full-time and part-time residents, plenty of vacation properties, and one of the most spectacular beaches in Florida. The sand really is different here—nearly pure quartz, incredibly fine and bright white.
Siesta is casual. Very casual.
This is a place where sandy feet, bathing suits and flip-flops are completely normal attire. Siesta Key Village adds restaurants, bars, shops and plenty of activity, while quieter residential streets are scattered throughout the island.
Full-time residences, second homes and vacation properties are mixed throughout the key, so there really isn’t a “vacation side” and a “residential side.” That mix is part of Siesta’s personality.
Siesta Key has a little bit of everything, and it’s scattered throughout the island. Condos and single-family homes sit among full-time residences, second homes and vacation properties.
The housing itself is just as varied, from older Florida homes and condos to renovated properties, newer construction and multimillion-dollar waterfront residences. Waterfront can mean Gulf-front, bayfront or canal-front, with boating access adding another layer to the market.
Living on Siesta isn’t quite the same thing as vacationing here. The beach may be the headline, but people also walk and bike the neighborhoods, boat from waterfront homes, head into the Village for dinner and cross onto the mainland for everyday errands.
You might have a full-time resident, a second home and a vacation property all within the same general area. Siesta doesn’t divide itself neatly into categories, and that’s part of what makes it Siesta.
Siesta Key doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s part of what I like about it. You can own a multimillion-dollar waterfront home and still look perfectly appropriate walking around barefoot.
If Lido has a little more polish around the edges, Siesta is the one that kicks off its shoes.
I focus on Bradenton real estate, helping buyers and sellers navigate the local market with confidence. I also work with clients in nearby areas like Palmetto, Parrish, and Sarasota -when that’s where the right fit is.
